April & May 2004 Call statistics released.


CREWE, Va (June 17, 2004) - The Nottoway County Emergency Squad announced today that its members ran a total of 132 calls during the Month of April 2004. This total represents 9,738 miles driven including 2,955 patient miles. 483.5 Gallons of fuel were used and members contributed a total of 922 person hours during the month. Of the 132 calls, 60 patients were transported to Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, 8 to Community Memorial in South Hill, 6 to Southside Regional in Petersburg, 1 was released to Med Flight and 5 were transported to Chippenham, 10 to Johnston-Willis, and 2 to St. Mary's, all in Richmond. Additionally, 10 calls were cancelled, 24 were comprised of patient refusals while the disposition of the remaining 6 were for patients treated but not transported, no patient found, stand-bys or other "miscellaneous" reasons.

Additionally, its members ran a total of 139 calls during the Month of May 2004. This total represents 9,108 miles driven including 3,036 patient miles. 506.9 Gallons of fuel were used and members contributed a total of 865 person hours during the month. Of the 139 calls, 72 patients were transported to Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, 5 to Community Memorial in South Hill, 5 to Southside Regional in Petersburg, 2 were released to Med Flight and 6 were transported to Chippenham, 9 to Johnston-Willis, and 1 to MCV, all in Richmond. Additionally, 7 calls were cancelled, 22 were comprised of patient refusals while the disposition of the remaining 10 were for patients treated but not transported, no patient found, stand-bys or other "miscellaneous" reasons.

April and May brings the total number of calls run by The Nottoway County Emergency Squad to 737 for the year consisting of 49,079 miles, 16,401 patient miles, with a total of 4,937 person hours contributed by its members.

During 2003, The Nottoway County Emergency Squad ran a total of 1,727 calls covering 40,004 patient miles with members contributing a total of 9,398 person hours.
