    When to use 9-1-1
  • Call 9-1-1 to report a Crime, Fire, Heart Attack, or other Serious Medical Condition or Injury, or any situation requiring the IMMEDIATE response of a FIRE TRUCK, AMBULANCE, or LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE.
    What the 9-1-1 Dispatcher will need to know:
  • The location of the emergency.
  • The phone number where the emergency is.
  • The nature of the emergency.
IMPORTANT: STAY CALM. SPEAK CLEARLY. STAY ON THE TELEPHONE UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD TO HANG UP.
    Do NOT call 9-1-1 for:
  • Road/Travel/Severe Weather Information.
  • Household/Auto Repairs including but not limited to locked keys in vehicles
  • Complaints of loud noise, littering, etc.
